Residential FAQ
+How can I trust the staff at Lotus to do a good job at my home?
Our staff are pre-screened prior to employment followed by a mandatory Australian Federal Police background check.
+What is the price for a Lotus clean?
Well this depends. Our service is unlike most other domestic cleaning companies because we do not work to an hourly rate; we tailor the service and price to individual needs, following a free, no obligation in-home consultation. It also depends on the type of service you need or a combination of services all of which will impact the price.
+What happens at the in-home and face to face consultation?
A Lotus professional will spend time with you in your home, visiting each room that needs to be cleaned. Your specific needs will be detailed with specific attention paid to any areas of concern.
At the end of the consultation, we will provide you with a price based on the information you have given to us.
+How long will the consultation take?
An average home visit to do an consultation usually lasts about 15 minutes. However, this can vary depending on the size and type of property.
+How do you determine the price?
We take a number of factors into consideration; for example, what is the size of the property, what cleaning is required and where is the property all determine the time required.
The focus is always creating value for money whilst ensuring our professionals carry out the clean to your full satisfaction.
+How much time will you need to clean my home?
The time our professional cleaners need to clean your home will depend on what type of service you require. You could decide you want a regular clean, a one-off clean, or a deep clean – each one will take a different amount of time.
Regular cleans: The time it takes to do a regular clean varies on the condition of the house when we arrive. If required we will discuss with you an initial price to allow the fully-trained staff to bring the property up to standard; we would then offer a regular price to maintain the clean, depending on the frequency (weekly, alternate weekly, monthly, etc.)
One-off cleans: We offer a fixed price for a one-off clean. The time it takes to clean your home will depend upon the amount of cleaning you need.
Deep Cleans: Performing a deep clean can be time consuming as this type of clean is usually required if the home has not been cleaned for some time.
If I need to re-schedule my regular clean how notice do I need to provide you?
We appreciate as much notice as possible and require at least 24hrs notice should you need to reschedule your service. If we don't receive minimum 24hrs notice you will be charged 50% of the service fee plus a $5 rebooking fee.
+How do I pay for services?
We accept online payments and bank transfer. We not accept cash. On completion of your service an invoice will be sent to your email address. The invoice will detail the options payments including direct deposit (bank transfer), Paypal and Credit Card using Stripe a secure, 256-bit SSL-encrypted, PCI-compliant system.
+Is there a contract?
No, we don't lock you into a contract. Our service and commitment to you is the only agreement you should be aware of.
+How do you avoid cross contamination in the home?
Unlike our competitors we mitigate cross contamination in your home by providing you freshly laundered microfibre cloths and mops each time we service your home. We have 3 colour system for microfribre cloths and mops. Red = Kitchen, Blue = General areas, Green= Bathroom.
Cross contamination is spreading bacteria and dirt from one location (ie bathroom) to the kitchen by using the same cloth or mop. Our competitors use the same cloth and mop from house to house and while these are washed they are not laundered. This is major issue and introduces unwanted bacteria into your home. Much of our competition are not aware of cross contamination issues and how to address this problem.
+What cleaning products do you use?
We don't use any cleaning products. We use Ozone (o3) cleaning solution produced by Lotus Pro
Lotus Ozone Cleaning FAQ
+What is Ozone?
Ozone, (O3), sometimes called "activated oxygen", contains three atoms of oxygen rather than the two atoms we normally breathe. Ozone is the second most powerful sterilant in the world and can be used to destroy bacteria, viruses and odors. Interestingly ozone occurs quite readily in nature, most often as a result of lightning strikes that occur during thunderstorms. In fact the "fresh, clean, spring rain" smell that we notice after a storm most often results from nature’s creation of ozone. However, we are probably most familiar with ozone from reading about the "ozone layer" that circles the planet above the earth’s atmosphere. Here ozone is created by the sun's ultra-violet rays. This serves to protect us from the ultra-violet radiation.
When produced by the lotus® PRO Cleaning System, the stabilized aqueous ozone can safely be used as a replacement for traditional chemical cleaners and pathogen-reducing sanitizer. Ozone (O3) is a powerful oxidizer that: Effectively deodorizes, sanitizes and destroys fungi, mold, allergens and bacteria Is made up of three oxygen atoms and is readily found in nature Has long been used in water treatment, food sterilization and medical therapies for its remarkable anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties Rapidly oxidizes bacteria it comes in contact with, then converts safely back into Oxygen (O2)
+What is the Lotus® Pro Ozone solution?
The lotus® Pro Cleaning System transforms ordinary tap water into the world’s most effective toxin-free cleaning by infusing it with ozone. This ‘Stabilized Aqueous Ozone’ eliminates germs, odors, stains, mold, mildew and other contaminants on any item or surface before changing safely back into water and oxygen.
Benefits of our technology:
- Requires minimal safety training – converts back into water and oxygen when done
- Quickly kills odors, stains, viruses and bacteria including E.coli, Salmonella, and hundreds of other common germs
- No toxins, carcinogens or chemical residue
- Can be used on any surface, from toilet bowls to bedspreads
+How does ozone work?
While ozone is very powerful, it has a very short life-cycle. When contaminants such as odors, bacteria or viruses make contact with ozone, they are destroyed completely by oxidation. In so doing, that extra atom of oxygen is consumed and there is nothing left...no odor...no bacteria...no extra atom, only oxygen. Ozone reverts back to oxygen after it is used.
